The Casa da Achada – Mário Dionísio Centre, founded in Lisbon in September of 2008 by over fifty personalities amongst relatives, friends, former students, former assistants, connoisseurs and scholars of his work, was open to the public in September of 2009.
Having as a base the assets, interests and work of Mário Dionísio, Casa da Achada, home of the Mário Dionísio Centre, aims to be a cultural venue in Lisbon, town where the writer, painter and professor was born (1916), lived and died (1993).
In the Document Center you can find the artistic and literary materials, personal archive and also his and Maria Letícia Clemente da Silva’s personal library. It’s a place of research, study and investigation. It’s possible, by appointment, to consult the archive and library – made up with over 6000 titles and 300 periodical editions – whose catalog is already available on-line.
The Public Area is a place of exhibitions, readings, movie projections, debate, workshops and social gathering – activities that are consistent with the interests and work of Mário Dionísio – besides having a library of a popular nature. The programming will be announced on this page.
